Inclusions

What's included in the tariff?

Accommodation, outdoor patios in every room, Aircon & Fan, Television, breakfast, selection of signature guided experiences, access to all spa facilities,

Is there complimentary wifi?

The resort offers complimentary wireless internet, however, due to the remote location of the lodge the connection can sometimes be slow or intermittent. Please note there is no cell service except Airtel & BSN at munjoh ocean resort.

Policies

Length of stay
Claquott wildnerness lodged to Munjoh offers packages based on a three night stay arriving Thursday and departing Sunday, a four night stay arriving Sunday and departing Thursday, or seven-night stays arriving either Thursday or Sunday.
What time is check-in/check-out?

Check-in time is 2pm and check-out is 10am. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and a surcharge may apply. Guests arriving or departing outside standard check-in or check-out times are welcome to enjoy the facilities.

What is the smoking policy?
Smoking is permitted in designated areas & patios of the rooms. All our rooms are non-smoking. We will charge you a fine for smoking inside the room equivalent to 1 night charges.
What is the minimum age for check-in?
Munjoh welcomes all ages. Child rates apply to guests aged 6-12 years, while youth rates apply to guests aged 13-18 years old. We ask that guests respect the relaxation element of our lodge and be mindful of each others experience. This destination needs a certain amount of mobility, do please ensure you can walk around in ease and can climb stairs.
How many people can occupy a room?

Due to a short season and limited accommodations, adult single or double occupancy is required in all our rooms. An extra person occupancy supplement per night applies. Maximum occupancy in all ensuite rooms is 3 people. Maximum occupancy in the Kohinoor Residence is 6 people. The Garden cottage and
Royal Chalet have a maximum occupancy of 5 guests.

What is the payment policy?
A deposit representing 50% of the total cost of booking including taxes is due at time of reservation. The remaining balance is due prior to arrival as er the email that will send to you. We accept Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Settlement is also accepted by bank transfer; please advise Munjoh once paid to ensure receipt
What is the cancellation policy?
Read full cancelation policy here. Refunds may not be granted in the event of non-arrival, any unused services or unused nights due to flight or weather disruptions. We very strongly recommend for peace of mind all guests purchase travel insurance.

Location

How do you get there?
The easiest and quickest way to travel to us to fly to Port Blair, India (for Munjoh Island House) followed by a scenic 1.5 hr-ferry to Havelock Jetty (for Munjoh Ocean Resort). Most big states in India have a direct flight to Port Blair and it will soon become an internatiomal airport too with direct flights coming in from other countries. Due to security reasons guests must transport their own suitcases within the jetties to the ferries. We therefore recommend traveling light and not to overpack. It is always summer on these isles!
What's the luggage allowance?
The standard baggage allowance per person is 15kg, which includes a small carry-on. Guests arriving to our Port Blair Resort before or after extended travel can store excess luggage securely at no extra cost. Guests arriving and departing via boat transfers are asked to pack no more than 1 small suitcase per person.
How is the weather?
These are tropical islands and are suitable for the beach throughout the year. Temperatures range from 22-30C. Monsoons are from May to August with shoulder months of September, however, the occasional shower does occur throughout summer.
What should I wear?
Attire is casual and chic. We recommend you pack comfortable, functional clothing for summer activities and come prepared with footwear for the chance of rain. There is no formal dress code for dining, you are welcome to dress as casual or formal as you wish. View packing list.
What is the currency?
The currency used is Indian Rupees (INR). We recommend carrying some cash sine there are only 2 ATM’s on the island.
What is the time zone?

Although these Islands are is located closer to Thailand, we operate under Indian Standard Time (IST, GMT+5.30). The Sun rises as early as 5am here and sunset is usually around 5pm. Our beach in Havelock is a sunrise beach & you can also view glorious moon rise over there on some nights.

What is the language?
Hindi, Bengali and English are widely spoken here. Tamil & Malayalam too.
What is the electricity connection?
The entire island is powered by Diesel Generators since it is cut off from mainland. We therefore request guests to switch off all gadgets, Airconditioners and other such when not in use. Please help us in reducing emissions on these pristine islands.
Can I bring my pet?
Due to the surrounding guests are asked to leave their pets at home. There are many dogs onsite to keep you company, we request you not to feed them so as to not disturb other guests.

Dining

Do you offer room service?
Unfortunately, because of our integration with the ecosystem we must be sensitive to the surroundings and it’s people and room service is unavailable. However, there is always a selection of snacks and baked goods available in the Bakery for hungry guests, available at a moments notice with our able staff.
Do you cater for dietary requirements?

As the resort is situated in a remote destination, it’s essential to advise any special dietary needs at the time of reservation. We will do our best to tailor menus accordingly whilst providing opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of premium regional produce. Should notice not be provided in advance, our chefs will endeavour
to prepare suitable meals with the ingredients available. We regret we are unable to prepare meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation.

Experiences

What activities are possible?
Water based experiences include snorkelling, diving, jet skiing, and fishing, sea kayaking. Land based experiences include hiking, walking meditation, spas and yoga or meditation classes.
What is not included?
Bespoke Heli Trips for private groups are available for an additional cost.
Do I have to do all the activities?

Not at all! You can do as many, or as few, as you wish. We understand that some people are seeking complete relaxation, so don’t feel guilty for taking an afternoon off. Guests are presented with a personalized itinerary on arrival which may then be tailored further to your interests.

What are the villas like?
Contemporary, chic interiors feature king beds in fine linens, big rooms with Outdoor patios , water heating and spacious bathrooms and Indian power/charging outlets for your devices.
How many people can you accommodate?
We can accommodate 66 people, or 100 including children sharing in the same villas
Do you have a fitness centre/gym?
We have a gorgeous private beach & a beautiful stretch of beach beyond it where you can practise yoga or tai chi or run or even power walk at your convenience, all while breathing in clean air & enjoying the pristine outdoors.
Is there laundry facilities?

A paid laundry service is available.

Is there a swimming pool or facilities?
There is no common swimming pool since we have the ocean beyond us. Our stretch of sea is calm and easy to swim in even for beginners. Swimming pools are only available with the Pool Suites & Royal Chalet. Guests are welcome to use the spas.
Are there walking or hiking tracks from the lodge?
Yes! Elephant beach, Kalapathar village, Beach no 4 and many more.

We can accommodate 86 people, or 108 including children sharing in the Jade Suites.

Is there a swimming pool or facilities? We feature Andaman’s best swimming pools with multi levels, waterfalls and relaxation areas. Guests are welcome to use the spas.
Are there walking or hiking tracks from the resort?
Yes! bring your walking or hiking shoes along and enjoy the great outdoors here.

Munjoh Seasons

The rainforests that dominate the landscape and ecosystem also drive the weather systems. While the region generally receives good rains that sustain its forests, in summertime the conditions are warm and dry, ideal for marine sports and beach activities, the monsoons make everything lush green & verdant & is an ideal time to enjoy these islands away from large crowds, cooler climes are ideal for coming on a special occasion and for well deserved rest and relaxation.
